Mission

We are seeking a 3D Printing Technician to support our client in Wyandotte, Michigan. This will be a split role between supporting the company’s Sculpteo and also 3D printing materials businesses. We are seeking a self-driven individual with experience as a 3D printing technician with their time being split 50/50 between printing and shipping of the final product. Above all, we need a deeply motivated team member with a strong sense of team spirit who is adaptable, versatile and an open-minded individual.

Profile

Working in the newly established Applications Technology Center (ATC), you will have an active role in building the 3D Printing/Sculpteo business by:

• Developing 3D printing procedures for various materials and different 3D printing platforms
• Maintaining 3D printers and troubleshooting any issues
• Providing technical support to address new market needs and to develop new applications
• Supporting new products, production and sales by working closely with customers, distributors and business partners.
• Communicate effectively and work in a collaborative team atmosphere
• Report on customer issues to supervisor and offer solutions to meet customer’s satisfaction
• Review and approve incoming parts prior to shipping to ensure consistent quality are packed carefully to survive shipping while consistently meet our shipping standards
• Managing production inventory and supply input
• Making sure orders are packaged and shipped on schedule to meet tight customer deadlines
• Communicate with shipping agencies to resolve any issues with late deliveries
• Support other departments within the organization requiring logistical assistance, or acting towards greater Customer Satisfaction
• Troubleshoot equipment and printing jobs
• Provide technical support of existing products and to existing customers
• Address new market needs and to develop new applications
• Support new product development, pilot and commercialization activities.
• Work closely with R&D, manufacturing and providing quality control (QC).
• Maintaining clean and organized lab space and printers/equipment.
• Monitoring stock levels of printing materials and Lab consumables.
• Educational background in a technical discipline
• Technical support and experience with photocurable resins
• Experience installing and operating various 3D printers
• Experience in developing, testing and working with 3D printable materials.
• Previous production, QC or R&D environments.
• Experience in testing 3D printed parts and knowledge of thermal and mechanical tests procedures, such as Tensile Strength, Elongation, Impact Resistance, etc.
• Basic knowledge of design and CAD software for creating or modifying 3D models.
• Safety mindset utilizing all tools to maintain clean and safe working environment.
• High level understanding of mechanics and machine systems with the ability to identify and troubleshoot.
• Hands on experience of learning to operate new equipment and develop safe and efficient work procedures and guidelines.
